My name is Andrew Graham. I was born near Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada and moved to Hobe Sound, Florida as a teen. I attended Hobe Sound Bible College, graduating in 1999. Days following graduation, I married my high school sweetheart. We will celebrate 10 years of marriage this summer.
We left South Florida for Kentucky, where I completed my Masters of Arts in Counseling at Asbury Theological Seminary in 2003. I said that I would work in community mental health long enough to obtain state and national licensure and then go into private practice. Six years later, I'm still in community mental health and couldn't imagine being anywhere else.
Following graduation, I worked as an Intensive In-Home therapist assisting in the adjustment process of children previously removed from the care of their primary caregivers through the reunification process. We left Kentucky and moved to Easley, South Carolina in 2005 where I worked in a similar program. After obtaining my licensure credentials, I moved into an outpatient therapist role, working with children and their families struggling to manage behavior and emotions.
In 2006, I was accepted into a doctoral program at Liberty University. I was offered a graduate teaching assistantship and relocated to Lynchburg, Virginia in the fall of 2007. Community mental health remained a passion and I was only a graduate assistant for one school year before taking a clinical supervisor position at the local mental health center. I'm now licensed in Virginia and lead a team of therapists who provide urgent assessment and services to children and their families in crisis. I also provide supervision for practicum students, interns, and beginning this fall, those seeking state licensure.
Along the way, we've had 4 children; those of school-age are homeschooled.
Blessings on you all; I'm looking forward to our journey together.
Andrew
